1. We believe that where we gather is not the emphasis of scripture. The heart of God is that we gather and walk with each other as we learn to walk like Jesus.

  2. We believe that by having homes be our primary gathering space we can use our finances to impact the lives of people in our world to a greater extent.

  3. We believe that the home is the most honest and vulnerable place for families and individuals to grow into the image of Jesus.

  4. We believe that by living in rhythmic proximity to each other we will become disciples that make more disciples.

  5. We believe homes provide a safe place for families to learn and grow in a way that can be multiplied throughout the city and the world.

What to Expect:

  1. Food

Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at our Host Homes. We start with food, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.

  1. Reading of Scripture and Discussion

We usually read a full chapter from the Bible. From there we get context of the book and everyone gets a chance to share thoughts and ideas on the scripture, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. We wrestle through the verses, learn from them and when applicable live them out in our daily lives.

  1. Worship and Communion

We respond to the truth found in the Bible by worshiping Jesus. True worship is an expression of praise from the depths of our hearts toward a God who is understood through His Word. Expect to experience a raw, simple and powerful worship experience. During this time we also partake in communion to remember everything that Jesus did on the cross.
